In a interview posted on Nexgen.biz, Peter Moore stated that the Rumor that he indicated a Blu-ray drive for the 360 was in the works was completely false. ''We are still backing HD-DVD to be the Format that the Consumer wants. We are still commited to the format.'' Well, there goes that dream.:(
Peter Moore Queshes Blu-Ray Drive for 36 ...
it doesn't mean that it won't happen. it just means that they are not making it right now. makes sense, considering that Blu Ray hasn't won yet. but once it does, there is no reason for MS not to make a Blu Ray player.Peter Moore Queshes Blu-Ray Drive for 36 ...
If you want a blu-ray player badly just save some money and grab your self a PS3.
that is because MS currently has a HDDVD player for the X360.. so no sense in not backing up a current product. but if HDDVD dies... there is also no reason to make a Blu Ray player and try to cash in on that market.
Dude I am freaking sick of all this Blu-Ray propoganda. THE ONLY REASON that Blu-Ray has an advantage right now is because of the PS3. The next lowest standalone is $700. We early adopters are no where near the deciding force as to who wins. It will be when a format has a standalone player that is within the limits for an average joe. HD DVD is gaining on that advantage. The advantage is miniscule by the way. Also a few months after Casino Royale went on sale they stated that they have shipped 1,000,000 units. This does not mean 1,000,000 Casino Ryales were purchased. Actually far from it. The figures for next gen are no where near DVD. Besides Blu-Ray has crap features, for f sakes Warner is waiting on them to develop their In Move Experience to rival that of HD DVD. As a result they are releasing movies on HD before Blu, Like Batman Begins, Superman Returns, and this week the Matrix. The Matrix is going to kill this week by the way.

That stinks, 360 people should ahve access to it as well.
bluray is only selling because the ps3 dosn't have any games. if you look at reviews hd-dvd has better quality. then read the story about walmart pushing hd-dvd this christmas. hd-dvd will eventually win and bluray will go the way of betamax and umd. but to be honest regular dvd has a much better library than bluray and hd-dvd combined. i'm sticking with dvd for now.

Becuase BD can use Java, its upto the studios what features they want to code, and despite what was spread most units run BD-J disks fine tho there is a new set of players which allow for additional content to be downloaded. The warner thing about not able to do it on BD was debunked the day it was spread round the net. Fact is, BD has the vast majority of the market on their side, they have the brand name regonition now in most countries and BD player prices are tumbling quickly. You can get a BD drive for your PC for 300$. The only thing HD has going for it now is Universal, and if the rumours are right their exclusivity deal is about to expire.
