but what's a good game to get that has great online play?I'm going to get a 360 today..........
I have heard very positive reviews for Rainbow 6 Vegas or you could buy Crackdown and hopefully get into the Halo 3 beta for a couple of weeks :)I'm going to get a 360 today..........

Dead Or Alive 4 also has some good online -- though the game itself is kinda love-it-or-hate-it. Gears Of War is EXTREMELY overrated... the multiplayer is repetitive and the single player is short and also a bit repetitive.Good single player games, if you're interested, are Oblivion, Dead Rising, Viva Pinata (yes, really) and Tony Hawk's Project 8.Good local multiplayer and co-op games are Guitar Hero 2 and Earth Defense Force 2017, although that second one is a love-it-or-hate-it game too.

Viva Pinata, Kameo, and some racing game.. but i also heard Lost Planet is a good online game
Gears of War is a MUST. Also Rainbow Six Vegas, Ghost Recon AW 2. COD2 still has a robust on-line community as does COD3.I also spend a lot of time with Virtua Tennis 3.  Also..Forza 2 is right around the corner. Crackdown is fun on-line even without the Halos 3 beta. Marvel Hero's is good co-op fun too.

since ur getting a 360 for the first time make sure u get the Elite
Get Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter I think its a easy game to pick up and learn online very fun.
oh btw the only online game u need right now is Halo3 beta so go get crackdown then u will have two good games for the price of one, even though the beta will last for only 3 plus weeks, crackdown still has co-op
